Gnuboy4Symbian used to be one of the most appreciated GameBoy and GameBoy Color emulators. The emulator has been specifically developed for devices running on the Symbian operating system. It was mostly suitable to Nokia users. The emulator is written in ANSI C and has a few optimizations for various types of devices. Apart from Symbian systems, the emulator has also been successfully tested on FreeBSD and OpenBSD systems, Linux and multiple versions of Linux, among others.

Gnuboy4Symbian is still available for free over the Internet. It does not require too much memory – less than 0.2MB. Download it and unzip all the files in the same directory to run it. The interface is basic and old fashioned, but it can easily replicate games in a smooth manner. Given the fact that the last version was released years ago, the project has clearly been abandoned – yet it is still in use by many.
